Who We Are
Who We Are
Founded with a heart to encourage women towards finding security and identity in Christ, the ministry strives to point others towards intimate relationships with a personal and all-caring God. Through individual counseling and mentoring, Be Seen hopes that women will be rooted in the truth that they are seen, heard, and known by God.
Drawing its name from the Hebrew El Roi meaning “the God who sees,” Be Seen Ministries is inspired by the Biblical story of Hagar. As a foreigner in a strange land and pregnant with the child of her mistress’s husband, she found herself caught in a series of painful and complex circumstances. Her response was much like that of many faced with adversity and conflict: she fled. But true to His character, God pursued her in her pain, loneliness, and fear. He turned an ear to Hagar when she felt most abandoned, rejected, and unimportant.
And He does the same for us today. Have you felt rejected and abandoned? Have you moved through life feeling unnoticed or invisible? Have you felt consumed by a series of painful experiences or circumstances? Do you long for someone to see you? To hear you? To know you?
Be Seen Ministries wants to be a fountain of water in the wilderness of a worn and weary world by extending the love and comfort of God to all those we encounter.
What We Believe
What We Believe
The Bible: We believe that the Bible is the true and inspired Word of God.
God: We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons of one essence: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, taking on flesh to reveal God to humanity. We believe He is the Savior of this world, bearing mankind’s sin through death on a cross and resurrecting so that man might live eternally with God.
The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in and empowers believers to live Godly lives. We believe the presence of the Holy Spirit seals the believer in Christ until the day of redemption.
Prayer: We believe in the power of prayer and encourage all to present their hearts to God through prayer.
Relationship: We believe in the importance of healthy relationships. We believe that a growing relationship with God is the most important relationship anyone can have and that out of this relationship all others will be influenced.
Women: We believe that women are made in the image of God and that their value and identity rest in Him. We believe in awakening the hearts of women to the truth of this identity in Christ.
Confidentiality: We believe and value the confidentiality of our clients and mentees. We want Be Seen Ministries to be a safe place for those in need to share and speak openly about their hearts and lives.

Mary Jane founded Be Seen Ministries with a mission that every woman who believes she is unnoticed or invisible would come to know the truth that she is seen, heard, and known by God. Having followed the Lord for more than four decades now, she has dedicated her life to mentoring and counseling women of all ages and walks of life. For over fifteen years she has served in children’s ministry at both North Point Ministries and Passion City Church. She created and co-led a mentoring program for middle school girls called Tween Treasures. She has also served in various women’s ministry, leading weekly women’s Bible studies and small groups as well as mentoring young women in the Atlanta area. Mary Jane completed her Masters in Christian Counseling and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. The Lord planted the vision for Be Seen Ministries in Mary Jane’s heart. The ministry allows her to draw on her life experience and God-given wisdom as she provides individual, family, and couples counseling and oversees other women as they minister to those younger than them through mentoring. Mary Jane has been married to her husband, Kerry, for 43 years. Together they have three daughters, three sons-in-law, six granddaughters, and two grandsons.
Rachel has a heart for mentorship because of her own experience with mentors in her life. Deep friendships with women of substance in each season has helped grow her faith and heal many struggles through the years. Rachel loves learning and sees the opportunity for women to find accountability and shared growth as they meet and learn to trust God through their unique life circumstances.
Having grown up in Tennessee, Rachel and her husband, Brendon, moved to Georgia in 2004 to join in the work at North Point Community Church. She has been focused on relational ministry since then including volunteering in Groups, CARE, Baptism and Inside Out/Youth ministry. In addition, she has focused her work at home with their 3 children, Lia, Marin and Jackson. She loves to have fun by exploring new places, reading and thrifting. Rachel is excited to bring her gifts and talents to this work and to inspire other women to become mentors and allow God to bless them as they are a blessing to another.
Rachel was invited to become a mentor at Be Seen Ministries by a close friend. She has always been a person who loves relationships, and who enjoys helping meet the needs of those around her. In Be Seen, she found a place where women are taking the initiative on their own to grow spiritually, relationally, and in the rest of their lives, and she loves being able to help them do that. As a bonus, she’s experienced growth in her own life as she mentors those around her. She loves serving at Be Seen because she’s always noticed that many women don’t feel like they are “seen” and that they are therefore not “important.” She loves that Be Seen exists to show women the truth - that they are not only seen, but they have a divine purpose, planned for them by their Heavenly Father.
Rachel was raised in the Midwest and came to faith at an early age. She met her husband Mike at the University of Georgia where she earned her Master of Social Work degree. She has two college-aged children and 2 Labrador Retrievers. She enjoys studying the Bible, home improvement projects, hanging out with friends, hiking, and traveling.
Angel has felt called to mentorship through the life experiences of her family and by the Holy Spirit. She is inspired by 1 Corinthians 12:27 which says, “For, as we are all to work together as the body of Christ.” She believes that women come most alive to the joys in their life when they learn to lean on God for identity and guidance. Angel loves to come alongside other women and help encourage, support and pray with them through their current life circumstances.
Angel grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to Georgia in 1998 with her husband Paul. She is the proud mom to three children, Caleb, Hannah, and Addi. Angel is creative and artistic and loves helping others decorate their home and fully love the spaces they occupy. She is excited and ready to see what God has in store for her through this new season assisting with the Be Seen Mentoring Ministry.
